How activation works

  1. 1Buy, and your license key arrives by email.
  2. 2Open DeftNib's Settings and paste it.
  3. 3Click Activate. The weekly limit is gone.

No internet at that moment? Activate anyway: Pro turns on, and the app confirms with the server by itself next time you are online.

What you own when you buy

  • The app, forever

The version you installed is yours. It does not expire, it does not switch off, and it does not stop working if you never buy anything from me again.

  • Every 1.x version included

Every improvement in the 1 line reaches you without paying again. No update renewal, no subscription. If a version 2 ever exists it will be an optional paid upgrade, and your 1.x keeps running.

  • 3 Macs

Your laptop, your desktop and the next one. You can see which are active and free one up when you sell a Mac, from the app or from the web.

  • Your dictations, which were never mine

The audio, the text, the history, your dictionary and your snippets live on your Mac. There is no copy of any of it on my side, so there is nothing to claim back if you leave.

  • Zero accounts

No user, no password, no profile. You paste your key once per Mac, and from then on that Mac checks the license by itself.

  • An app that does not depend on me

Dictation never touches a server: everything runs on your Mac. The server's one job is counting which Macs are on your license, and once a Mac is activated, it stays on Pro even if that server goes silent forever. By design, it only loses Pro if the server explicitly revokes the license.
